It was news just hours ago that Ice Cube, owner and organizer of the BIG3, reportedly made a stratospheric offer to women’s college basketball starlet Caitlin Clark, putting up as much as $5 million to see the Iowa shooting guard play in the world’s most famous 3-on-3 league.
The news made the rounds, given the popularity of Caitlin Clark, who recently became the all-time leading scorer in American collegiate basketball, and the comments were not long in coming, particularly from those who know the BIG3 well. On the negative side was the former NBA star. Kenyon Martin:
“BIG3 is just one level below the basketball being played in prison, can you imagine Clark being marked by someone like Reggie Evans? On that court he wouldn’t even score a point, no kidding“.
Martin is echoed by Gilbert Arenas:
“She is too small physically, 180cm for 70 kilos in a league of former NBA giants. What can she do? As soon as she gets on the court, BOOM, they’re going to kick her ass!“.
