The Philadelphia 76ers received an important update today. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, superstar Joel Embiid is close to returning from injury and could play tomorrow night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“76ers star Joel Embiid is close to returning as early as Tuesday’s home game against the OKC Thunder, sources at @TheAthletic @Stadium say. The reigning NBA MVP has positively completed several five-on-five scrimmage sessions in recent days.”, wrote Shams Charania on X (formerly Twitter).

Philadelphi 76ers coach Nick Nurse recently provided a positive update on Embiid’s injury. However, the timing of Embiid’s injury was in doubt. It is now clear that Embiid is on the verge of returning. Even if Embiid does not play Tuesday against the Thunder, he should be back on the court before long, barring setbacks.
Joel Embiid has not played since late January after a leg injury. He underwent meniscus surgery and was expected to be out for a long time. The 76ers hoped, however, that he could return during the 2023-24 season, and he will be just that.
