Jimmy Butler was not on the court in Game 2 between Miami Heat e Boston Celtics, will not be for the entire series due to the nasty injury suffered in the Play-in. However, the Heat star still wanted to send a message and in a way tease the Celtics after last night’s surprising victory, which came after a resounding -20 in Game 1. Miami won at TD Garden thanks to the performances of Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Caleb Martin.
So right after the game Butler posted on Instagram. a clumsily photoshopped picture with his face instead of Jaylen Brown’s in a very specific graphic: the statement the Celtics player had made last year when Miami was up 3-0 in the Conference Finals against Boston. Before Game 4, Brown had warned: “Don’t let us win one!”, predicting that in case of success Boston would come back. In fact, the Celtics had then rebounded, even managing to tie it at 3-3 before Miami found victory again in the decisive Gauntlet-7.
In this case Jimmy Butler wanted to send a message to the Celtics: now that Miami has won a game, he’s not going to stop there. The series is about to move to Florida, where the Heat will try to win both games to return to Boston with the first matchpoint. A prohibitive task, however, given the gap between the two rosters and the absences of Butler himself and Terry Rozier, still waiting to make his debut this postseason.
