Jalen Brunson’s IRREAL game: NEVER ANYONE like him in NBA history

Tonight the New York Knicks took on the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Center. In the end, however, only one star shined brighter. In a contest featuring All-Stars Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Julius Randle, it was Jalen Brunson who stole the show, putting up the best game of his career for the Knicks in the 139 to 122 victory over the Suns.

The game was still scoreless in the fourth quarter, and that’s when the Knicks guard decided to take it upon himself to seal the victory for the away team. He scored 16 points in the final frame with a perfect shooting percentage (5-5 overall, 3-3 from long distance), ending the night with a whopping 50 points. In fact, he finished with a perfect 9-9 from the field, a truly remarkable achievement.

According to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Knicks guard Jalen Brunson is the only player in NBA history to score 50 or more points with 100% shooting from long distance (minimum 8 attempts) as he finished with 9 of 9.

Crossing the 50-point milestone with eight or more three-point shots on the night is not exactly a unique feat, although it is important to note that making such a game requires excellent shooting ability from beyond the arc. In fact, the most recent player to accomplish this was Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson’s teammate at the Knicks, who scored 57 points with 8-14 shooting from outside last March.
