How will Vanessa Bryant use the 16 million from the photo-Kobe trial?

Vanessa Bryant now has an extra $16 million in her bank account after the court ruled in her favor regarding her lawsuit against Los Angeles County. Apparently, however, the widow of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has no intention of keeping a single penny of the money she got from this lawsuit.

According to Alene Tchekmedyian of the Los Angeles Times, Mrs. Bryant will donate the entire fee to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. The nonprofit organization was founded following the untimely deaths of Kobe and his daughter Gigi in a tragic helicopter crash in 2020. The crash also cost the lives of the other seven passengers on the flight.

For her part, Vanessa Bryant has filed a lawsuit against the county for her role in releasing photos of the crash site. As they admitted during the hearing, a number of county deputies shared photos from the site with their friends in the aftermath of the tragedy. Vanessa claims that this caused emotional distress for her and her family.

It is good to know that the money will be spent to help further the foundation’s vision, which is to create a “positive impact for athletes and disadvantaged boys and girls in sports.”
