The Orlando Magic have finally found someone to build around in Paolo Banchero, whom they selected as the first overall pick at the 2022 NBA Draft. The verdict is not yet final on Banchero, but the Magic world can certainly appreciate all it has seen from the former Duke Blue Devils star so far in the 2022 NBA Summer League. For Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green, Banchero is the real deal, overreaction or not.

Draymond Green was also referring to the way the rookie performed during Orlando’s thrilling 94-92 win tonight against the Sacramento Kings.
The match needed a pair of overtimes to be decided, giving it at least a feeling of tilt toward the regular season. Banchero finished the contest with 23 points, 6/15 shooting from the field, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 turnovers and 2 steals. His sixth rebound was then the one that proved decisive, as it led to a game-winning basket by teammate Emmanuel Terry.
Let’s see if Draymond Green is really right about Paolo Banchero however as Italians we sincerely hope so. Although there is a long way to go!
