Telugu Singer Ghazal Srinivas arrested on sexual harassment charges in Hyderabad Today. According to the reports, Punjagutta police on Tuesday arrested noted ghazal singer Kesiraju Srinivas following a complaint of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old woman colleague. The victim works at web radio channel ‘Aalayavani‘, which is run by Save Temples Organisation from their office located on the first floor of Saptagiri Towers near Care Hospital in Banjara Hills.
Ghazal Srinivas aged 51, is a singer from Kabir Nivas, Anand Nagar in Khairatabad, is a brand ambassador for Save Temples Organisation and used to supervise the work of the web radio channel too,” Punjagutta inspector S Ravinder. The victim, a divorcee from Karimnagar, joined the web radio channel in June 2017 on a monthly salary of ₹13,000. On December 29, she lodged a complaint with the Punjagutta police alleging that Ghazal Srinivas was sexually harassing her.

According to the police, the singer admitted that he had sought a message but denied allegations of sexual harassment. “When we arrested him, he claimed in his defense that he needed physiotherapy. He said his regular therapist was not available and the complainant had volunteered to massage him,” the ACP added.The police also booked a woman, the singer’s personal assistant, for allegedly bringing pressure on the complainant in the matter.
Ghazal Srinivas is best known for earning the Guinness World Record after he sang songs in 76 different languages in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi at a single concert in 2008.
