Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Movie First / 1st Day Collections: Akshay Kumar is back with another social message oriented film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘ for the audience on Friday, August 11th, 2017. The film starring Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Anupam Kher and Divyendu Sharma in lead roles, Anupam Kher and Sana Khan in supporting roles. This film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and has been jointly produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey under the banner Friday Filmworks, Plan C Studios, Grazing Goat Pictures, KriArj Entertainment and Abundantia Entertainment.

It is a satirical comedy film which is inspired by PM Narendra Modi let Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a governmental campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in India, with emphasis on the reduction of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural areas of India. It is a big Independence Day release this year. TEPK film receiving an excellent response from audiences and film critics.

The movie got released around 3,000+ screens in India and 590+ screen in overseas. The trailer and teaser of the film increased the curiosity in the audience to watch the film which helped the advance booking of the film. The film tickets are sold like hotcakes on online booking sites before the release and all multiplexes are witnessed good occupancy in morning shows. The TEPK film got positive reviews from film critics and audience. And also received good opening at box office. Reportedly, TEPK film is expected to collect above Rs 13 crore on his first day at the Indian box office. It is likely to beat the records of  the previous film Jolly LLB-2 which has collected Rs 13.20 crores on opening day. The film also has the grand opening of the Overseas box office and it may earn more on weekends as no big movie released on Friday.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, deals with the problem of open defecation in rural areas of the country. The film will hit screens on August 11.Days before its release, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had reportedly announced it will be screened tax-free in the state.

The film has been made on a tight budget of 18 crores. Given the budget of the film, a 13 crore opening at the Box Office is good enough for it to cross the safety mark in the first week itself.
